Proceed to Dhaka Tour
The Dhaka Tour offers an immersive journey into the heart of Bangladesh’s vibrant capital. As you explore the city, you’ll experience a mix of historical landmarks, cultural heritage, and dynamic urban life. Begin with the Parliament House, a masterpiece of modern architecture designed by Louis Kahn, followed by a visit to the historic Dhakeshwari Temple and the iconic Lalbagh Fort. Wander through the bustling New Market and uncover hidden gems like the Star Mosque and Armenian Church. A visit to the Pink Palace (Ahsan Manzil) will give you a glimpse into the city’s colonial past. Finally, head to the lively Sadarghat, where you can enjoy a boat ride along the Buriganga River. This tour provides an unforgettable glimpse into the rich history, culture, and life of Dhaka.
10:00 AM to 5:30 PM: We will meet you at your hotel or the airport and begin our Dhaka City Tour. This full-day excursion will cover all the major attractions of Dhaka, with a focus on the historic and cultural sites of Old Dhaka. The tour includes visits to the Parliament House, Dhaka University area, Dhakeshwari Temple, Lalbagh Fort, Star Mosque, Armenian Church, and The Pink Palace (Ahsan Manzil).
6:00 PM to Overnight: In the evening, you will travel to Shadarghat, where you will board a water vessel heading toward Barishal. You will spend the night in a private 1st class cabin, enjoying the picturesque journey along the river. As you move away from Dhaka city, the surroundings will transform into tranquil nature, with bridges and the soothing sound of the steamer slicing through the water. Dinner will be served in your cabin as you relax and take in the views of both sides of the riverbed, observing the local economic activities along the way.

6:00 AM to 8:30 AM: The Rocket Steamer will arrive in Barishal around 5:30 AM, depending on the weather. You’ll need to wake up early to catch the floating market, which sets up in various villages around Barishal. From the docking area, you’ll take a Tuktuk (CNG) to the Shondha River bank, where your backwater tour begins. This scenic 25 km journey will be complemented by a breakfast along the way.
8:30 AM to 5:00 PM: Your exploration of Bangladesh’s backwater life continues on a local engine boat. During this boat ride, you’ll pass through unique floating vegetable gardens and colorful floating markets. If you’re visiting during the rainy season, you may also come across a wood boat market and guava markets that operate throughout the day. You’ll see various fishing techniques, pass by a mechanical boat workshop, and witness the wholesale wood business activities.
For lunch, we will stop at a homely restaurant in Atghar Kuriana Bazar, after which you’ll continue through Banaripara, passing wood apple, guava, and betel leaf gardens.
Next, you’ll visit Chakhar and the Ser-e-Bangla Museum, a two-room museum dedicated to the legacy of Ser-e-Bangla (The Tiger of Bengal), a prominent leader during the British era. Afterward, you’ll take another Tuktuk ride back to Barishal, stopping along the way to explore the Guthia Mosque and DurgaShagor.
6:00 PM to Overnight: In the evening, it’s time to return. After experiencing the Rocket Steamer for your onward journey, you’ll now travel back on a modern vessel, commonly used by locals. If you’re lucky enough to have a full moon in the sky, you can enjoy the tranquil views from the roof of the vessel, offering you a reflective moment to think about your journey and life.
