Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative, who will assist with immigration formalities and guide you throughout your journey. From Paro, embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, where you will check into your hotel and have time to refresh.
Begin your exploration of Bhutan with visits to:
- Kuensel Phodrang: Admire the towering Buddha Dordenma statue and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley.
- Craft Bazaar: Wander through 80 vibrant stalls offering authentic Bhutanese arts and crafts, providing the perfect opportunity to purchase local handmade products.
- Tashichhoe Dzong: Visit this grand fortress, which houses the King’s office, the secretariat, and the central monk body. Built in 1641, it remains a central symbol of Bhutanese culture and religion.

Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, offers a perfect blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty. Start your day by visiting the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal, and explore traditional handwoven textiles at the Weaving Center. Discover Bhutan’s rich textile history at the Textile Museum and see local students mastering traditional arts at the Institute for Zorig Chusum. If you’re visiting on the weekend, immerse yourself in the lively Weekend Market, where you can experience Bhutanese daily life. Don’t miss the excitement of a traditional archery match, Bhutan’s national sport.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Thimphu to Punakha, which takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. On the way, stop at Dochula Pass, located at an elevation of 3,150 meters, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas (weather permitting) and visit the Dochula Chorten, a beautiful collection of 108 stupas. Continue your journey through the lush landscapes, passing small villages and terraced fields, before arriving in Punakha. Known for its historical significance and breathtaking natural beauty, Punakha is home to the iconic Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most stunning architectural marvels.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Punakha to Paro, which takes approximately 4-5 hours. The journey offers stunning views of Bhutan’s countryside, passing through terraced fields, small villages, and dense forests. On the way, make a stop at Simtokha Dzong, the oldest dzong in Bhutan, which was built in 1629. This historical site offers great insight into Bhutan’s architectural style and cultural heritage.
Upon arrival in Paro, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the town at your leisure.

After an early breakfast, embark on one of Bhutan’s most iconic hikes to Taktsang Monastery, better known as Tiger’s Nest. Perched on a cliffside 3,120 meters above sea level, this sacred monastery is one of the most famous landmarks in Bhutan. The hike takes approximately 4-5 hours round trip, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Paro valley.
The trek begins at the Taktsang Base Camp, where you will begin your ascent through lush forests and terraced fields. As you approach the monastery, enjoy the serene atmosphere and the panoramic views of the valley below. The monastery, which was built in the 17th century, is said to be the place where Guru Rinpoche meditated after flying there on the back of a tigress.
Once at the top, explore the monastery and take in the spiritual ambiance before descending back to the base. The hike is challenging but incredibly rewarding, with the opportunity to witness one of the most revered sites in Bhutan.
